Langtang (23,769 ft; 7,245 m), The back bone of Gosaithan, Shiva's Lake

t_tit.jpg (1382 bytes)egarded as themost perfect alpine landscape in the world, the Langtang Himal massif - clearly visible from Kathmandu - is right on the city's back door and the trek allows you to enjoy ir in full. With many hotels and eating places it is also one fro the casual and hot so hardy trekker.

Langtang region cosists of four major trekking sites viz., Gosaikunda, Helanbu, Langtang Himal and Ganesh Himal. Traveller gets the glimpse of Ganesh Himal, however will touch the Langtang Ri and Gosaikunda. A day or two at Gosaikunda may able you to climba small peak of 5,100m. Helambu is a small Tamang and Sherpa village where the tradition and culture still exists as they were in yesteryears.

Adventure Makalu offers two trekking packages to these region. Itinerary may be changed to go to Helambu as well.

1. Langtang Gosaikunda Trek, shorter version of the trek that allows the trekkers to reach the Langtang Ri Base Camp and Gosaikunda.
2. Langtang Trek, the longer version of the trek circuiting the entire region

Langtang/Gosaikunda Trek

Discover traditional villages and untouched forest on the route towards the Peaks of Langtang. This area, north of Kathmandu is one of the least trekked regions but one of the most rewarding. Rest days are built in to the program at Kyngin Gompa (3750 m)

Langtang Trek(Mar, Apr, Sep, Oct, Nov)

This trek takes in a complex topography and geology, together with the varied climatic conditions of Langtang National Park, giving a wide spectrum of vegetation types (incuding a sub-tropical forest). Gosaikunda is a high area covered with 108 holy lakes and view of Langtang, Ganesh an dDor-jee Lakpa can be enjoyed. Animal life is abundant and one can come across many endangered species like the red Panda, Black bear, and Sherpa people the day-long drive from Kathmandu to Dhunche, through bumpy and slow at times is compesated by the picturesque view of the terrace cultivation in the country side.
